Comparative study of the Frenectomy Procedures Using Eryag Laser Versus The Conventional Scalpel Technique

Aim- The aim of the study was to compare the outcomes of frenectomy procedures performed using Er:YAG laser technology versus the conventional scalpel technique. Materials and Methods-The study aimed to compare the outcomes of frenectomy procedures using Er:YAG laser technology versus the conventional scalpel technique in patients aged 7.5 to 20 years. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software. Results- The distance between the frenum attachment and papilla increased over time, with no significant difference between the conventional scalpel and laser groups at both time points. Conclusion- Laser surgery in frenectomy procedures offers the advantages of being quicker and resulting in reduced bleeding, making it a favourable option for performing frenectomies.
