Assessment of correlation of hysteroscopy with histopathology in abnormal uterine bleeding | |

Background: The present study was conducted for evaluating correlation of hysteroscopy with histopathology in abnormal uterine bleeding. Materials & methods: A total of 100 patients were enrolled in the present study. All women in the age 20-40 with abnormal uterine bleeding women in reproductive & postmenopausal age with AUB.A detailed history of the patient was taken and through clinical examination was done according to predesigned and pretested Performa. Hysteroscopy was done. The procedure was performed in a minor operation theatre under sedation. All the procedures and measurements were performed under the direct supervision of the supervisor of the study using a structured data collection form. The data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences software. Results: Mean sensitivity and specificity of hysteroscopy in identification of normal/hormonal findings was 68.32 percent and 96.12 percent respectively. Mean sensitivity and specificity of hysteroscopy in identification of abnormal findings was 96.12 percent and 68.32 percent respectively. Conclusion: Hysteroscopy is safe, reliable and fast method in determination of cases with abnormal uterine bleeding with high affectability, specificity and negative prescient esteem. Hysteroscopy is economic technique, very much acknowledged by the patient. |
